Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026
This policy explains what AirPro News LLC (“AirPro News”, “we”) collects when you use airpronews.com, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. The short version: we collect very little, we don’t sell it, and most of what is collected comes from the analytics and advertising tools every publisher uses.
1. What we collect
Information you give us. Your email address (and name, if you provide it) when you subscribe to the newsletter; your name, email and message when you use a contact form or write to us; and any material you send us for publication, such as press releases and images.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting provider and the tools below record standard technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, approximate location derived from IP, and cookies or similar identifiers. Newsletter emails record whether they were opened and which links were clicked.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data and we do not run user accounts; there is nothing to log in to.
2. The tools we use, and what they see

3. Why we use it
- To run the site and keep it secure and fast
- To send you the newsletter you asked for, and to understand which stories readers find useful
- To answer your messages and process press releases and advertising bookings
- To fund the site through advertising and to report audience figures, in aggregate, to advertisers
- To comply with legal obligations
Where the GDPR or similar law applies, our legal bases are your consent (newsletter, non-essential cookies), performance of a contract (advertising bookings), and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and funding a news website.
4. Sharing
We share personal data only with the service providers listed above, who process it on our behalf or under their own policies as indicated; with professional advisers where necessary; and with authorities where the law requires. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Aggregated, non-identifying statistics (for example, monthly visitor numbers) may be published in our media kit.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies needed for the site to work, analytics cookies to measure traffic, advertising cookies set by Google AdSense and its partners, and preference cookies such as your chosen language. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features and personalised ads will not. EU/UK visitors are shown a consent notice for non-essential cookies where required.
6. How long we keep it
Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, then deleted from the active list within 30 days. Contact-form messages and email correspondence: up to three years, or longer if needed for an ongoing relationship or legal reason. Press materials: retained as part of the published record. Analytics data: according to the retention settings of the tools above, typically 14–26 months.
7. International transfers
AirPro News is based in the United States and our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country. Where EU or UK law applies, transfers rely on the providers’ safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws may have additional rights, including to know what is collected and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; we do not sell or share personal information in that sense, and we do not discriminate against anyone who exercises their rights. To exercise any right, email contact@airpronews.com; we respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, access to our systems is limited to the people who need it, and our providers maintain their own security programmes. No online service is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as the law requires.
10. Children
The site is intended for a professional audience and not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has provided it, contact us and we will delete it.
11. AirPro Atlas and AirPro Games
AirPro Atlas. The Atlas (airpronews.com/atlas) runs in your browser. It keeps a few things in your browser’s local storage: your settings (metric or US units, whether the launch countdown is folded, the last aircraft you picked on the range map, the jet stream level you picked), that you have seen the quick guide, and the flights you add to “My flights map”; none of this is sent to us. If you share your flights map, the link carries the airport codes of those flights in its address, so anyone who gets the link can see them. “Near me” asks your browser for your location only when you click it; the position is used in your browser and is never sent to us. Map tiles and map fonts come from OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org), which receives your IP address like any website you visit. Weather, flight and launch data are fetched by our server, not by your browser. If you use “Suggest a correction”, we receive your message, the card it is about and, if you give them, your name and email address: the message is emailed to contact@airpronews.com and kept in our website database, it is checked for spam by Akismet (Automattic), which receives the message and your IP address, and a code made from your IP address is kept for one hour to limit how many messages one connection can send. The Atlas sets no cookies.
The Atlas on other websites. Other websites can show an AirPro Atlas globe on their pages (a frame from airpronews.com/atlas/frame/, with a link to the Atlas under it). That globe loads from airpronews.com and its map from OpenFreeMap, like the Atlas itself; it runs no analytics or advertising and sets no cookies of its own. Anything it keeps in your browser, such as your choice of units, stays in your browser and is kept apart for each website you see it on.
AirPro Games. AirPro Games (airpronews.com/game) keeps your daily results, your daily streak (how many days in a row you have played a daily challenge, and your best streak), your best Carousel Run (its moves, so you can race its ghost), the airport codes, Lost & Found things, badges, medals, distance run and runner colours you have collected in Carousel Run, the nickname you last used, a few settings (units, sound, which music track the next run starts with, the look you chose for Pushback) and short-lived game tickets in your own browser (local storage); they are not sent to us. When a game starts, your browser asks our site for a game ticket: a random code with the time, signed by our site, so that a score can be checked against the time actually played; nothing about you is stored when a ticket is made. Some games show a map: its tiles come from OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org), which receives your IP address like any website you visit. AirPro Games sets no cookies and does not track you.
AirPro Games leaderboards. After a game you may choose to add your score to a leaderboard. We then store the nickname you type, your score, the time you took, the game and day, the ticket’s random code, the game itself, so the score can be checked (the answers you gave in a quiz, the moves you made in Boarding Rush or Pushback, or for Carousel Run the course and your moves, which other players can also race as a ghost), and a code made from your IP address and the date with a secret key, so the address itself is not stored and the code changes every day (it limits how many scores one connection can add and helps us spot a daily game played twice). The nickname, score and time are shown publicly on the leaderboard. Scores are deleted after 35 days, except the 10 best of all time for each game and its options, which stay on the all-time leaderboard (without the connection code, which is erased after 2 days). Choose a nickname, not your full name. To have a score removed sooner, write to contact@airpronews.com.
