EDGE Group PJSC has delivered six ANAVIA HT-100 NAVAL unmanned helicopters to the Angolan Navy following the completion of Factory Acceptance Trials in Bilten, Switzerland. The September 10, 2026, handover marks a critical integration phase in Angola’s EUR 1 billion naval modernization program, equipping the nation’s incoming surface fleet with organic aerial surveillance assets.
In a press release issued on September 10, 2026, the United Arab Emirates-based defense conglomerate confirmed the successful trials took place between August 24 and August 28, 2026. The unmanned systems will be integrated onto three BR71 MK II Combattante corvettes currently under construction to enhance the maritime surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities of the Angolan Navy.
Fleet modernization and corvette integration
The delivery stems from a EUR 1 billion contract signed in February 2023 between EDGE Group and Simportex, Angola’s public enterprise for defense procurement. The agreement centers on the construction and delivery of three 71-meter multi-mission corvettes designed to secure Angola’s exclusive economic zone and coastal waters.
The first-of-class corvette, designated NRA Ekuikui II, was launched on March 4, 2026, at the CMN Naval shipyard in Cherbourg, France. Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) is constructing the second vessel in Abu Dhabi, while CMN Naval builds the third. Under the program structure, two HT-100 NAVAL systems are assigned to each of the three corvettes.

ANAVIA HT-100 NAVAL capabilities and next steps
EDGE Group acquired a majority stake in Swiss autonomous air systems developer ANAVIA AG in November 2023, bringing the HT-100 platform into its portfolio. The HT-100 NAVAL variant is specifically designed for shipborne operations and features electro-optical and infrared sensors tailored for maritime patrol, target acquisition, and search and rescue support.
Following the handover in Switzerland, the unmanned helicopters will undergo physical integration onboard the BR71 MK II platforms. Sea trials in Angolan waters will follow to validate the launch, recovery, and data-link systems before the aircraft officially enter operational service.

Sweden Awards SEK 3.3 Billion for KFS Future Fighter Program
FMV contracts Saab AB and GKN Aerospace to advance Sweden’s Future Fighter System Concept through 2028.

The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) awarded SEK 3.3 billion in contracts to Saab AB and GKN Aerospace on September 9, 2026, advancing the nation’s independent Future Fighter System Concept (KFS) program from initial studies to the demonstrator phase.
Announced via a Saab press release, the funding secures development work through 2028 and solidifies Sweden’s strategy to maintain a sovereign aerospace industrial base following its 2023 departure from the UK-led Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). The contracts ensure Sweden retains the engineering capacity to either develop an indigenous successor to the JAS 39 Gripen E or enter a future international partnership with established technological leverage.
Advancing the Future Fighter System Concept
The procurement is split between Sweden’s two primary aerospace contractors. Saab AB will receive SEK 2.9 billion to lead the overall system design and platform development. GKN Aerospace was awarded SEK 390 million to focus on propulsion and engine technologies. The primary contract period covers 2026 through 2028, with the FMV holding options to extend the work into 2029 and 2030.
The KFS program, known in Swedish as Konceptprogram Framtida Stridsflygsystem, was formally initiated with study contracts in March 2024 and extended in October 2025. “We are currently in an intensive development phase where, together with Sweden, we are exploring technologies that will lay the foundation for the next generation of combat air systems. As part of this work, we intend to fly uncrewed demonstrators with fighter-like characteristics before 2030 as we support Sweden in considering their future options,” said Peter Nilsson, Head of Business Unit Advanced Programs at Saab.

France Accepts First Two Falcon 2000LXS Albatros Aircraft
France’s DGA accepts first two Falcon 2000LXS Albatros maritime patrol aircraft, launching a 12-aircraft AVSIMAR fleet program by 2031.

The French Government Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) has formally accepted the first two Dassault Aviation Falcon 2000LXS Albatros maritime surveillance Military-Aircraft, initiating a fleet modernization program that will replace the French Navy’s aging legacy platforms. The aircraft were delivered to the Lann-Bihoué naval air station in Brittany on July 27 and July 31, 2026, with official public announcements following on September 8 and September 9.
In a press release issued on September 9, 2026, Dassault Aviation confirmed the deliveries mark the operational beginning of the Maritime Surveillance and Intervention Aircraft (AVSIMAR) program. The initiative aims to field a total of 12 Albatros aircraft by 2031, replacing the French Navy’s current fleet of eight Falcon 50M and five Falcon 200 Gardian aircraft.
Aircraft capabilities and mission systems
The Falcon 2000LXS Albatros is a militarized variant of the civilian Falcon 2000LXS Private-Jets, heavily modified for maritime patrol and intervention duties. Conversion work is performed at Dassault Aviation’s Mérignac plant, following flight tests at the company’s Istres facility.
The aircraft features a mission system developed by Naval Group, integrating a belly-mounted Thales SearchMaster AESA radar and a Safran Euroflir 410 optronic turret. Additional modifications include observation windows, dedicated SATCOM communication systems, and a Search and Rescue (SAR) chain-dropping system.
The Albatros offers a range of 7,400 kilometers. According to the DGA, this represents a 10 to 30 percent increase in range over the current French maritime surveillance fleet.
Fleet integration and operational timeline
The newly delivered aircraft are assigned to Flottille 24F at the Lann-Bihoué naval air station. Following their arrival, the French Navy’s aeronautical test and evaluation center (CEPA) initiated military evaluations to prepare the platforms for initial operational capability.
The DGA placed the initial Orders for seven aircraft in December 2020, followed by a contract for the remaining five in September 2025. A third Albatros is scheduled for Delivery in late 2026, with subsequent airframes arriving at a planned rate of two per year until the 12-aircraft fleet is complete in 2031.
Dassault Aviation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Éric Trappier highlighted the Manufacturers history with maritime platforms and the specific mission profile of the new fleet.
“From the Falcon 20 of the U.S. Coast Guard to the Falcon 900 and 2000MSA of the Japanese Coast Guard, and including the Falcon 200 Gardian and 50M of the French Navy, we have extensive experience in maritime surveillance,” Trappier stated.
Trappier added that the aircraft provide a high-performance response to challenges of maritime security, including combating pollution and trafficking, as well as monitoring borders and exclusive economic zones.

Mobix Labs, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOBX) has secured its initial production order to supply Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) filtered connectors for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, expanding the manufacturers component footprint across major United States military aircraft programs.
Announced in a September 08, 2026, press release, the contract was awarded in partnership with an unnamed veteran-owned U.S. aerospace sustainment contractor. Initial shipments of the components, which are manufactured at the company’s military-approved EMI Solutions facility in Irvine, California, have already been delivered. The balance of the order is scheduled for delivery in the coming weeks.
Expanding defense platform integration
The F-16 Fighting Falcon order adds to Mobix Labs’ existing portfolio of defense contracts. The company already supplies components for several other U.S. fighter aircraft, including the F-22 Raptor, the F-35 Lightning II, and the F/A-18 Super Hornet.
