Embraer Ipanema 203 to Fly at Brazil Agricultural Aviation Congress
Embraer showcases its ethanol-powered Ipanema 203 at Brazil’s Agricultural Aviation Congress in August 2026.
Embraer S.A. will feature its ethanol-powered Ipanema 203 agricultural aircraft at the Brazilian Agricultural Aviation Congress in Goianápolis, Goiás, from August 18 to 20, 2026. The manufacturer plans to conduct demonstration flights to highlight the platform’s operational efficiency and its established role in the South American agribusiness sector.
In a press release issued on August 13, 2026, Embraer confirmed its participation in the event organized by the National Agricultural Aviation Companies Union (SINDAG). The showcase centers on the Ipanema 203, which currently holds more than a 50 percent market share in its segment and represents over two decades of 100 percent ethanol-powered aviation technology.
Performance and agricultural yield
The Ipanema program has delivered more than 1,700 aircraft to date. Embraer states the current 203 model can spray more than 200 hectares per hour, offering the operational equivalent of four large ground sprayers working simultaneously.
Beyond speed, the manufacturer emphasizes the aircraft’s impact on crop yield. By eliminating the soil compaction and mechanical crop damage associated with ground equipment, and by preventing the spread of pests through soil contact, operators can realize potential yield gains of up to 15 bags per hectare.
Sany Onofre, Embraer’s Agricultural Aviation Leader, highlighted the aircraft’s value proposition in the company’s statement.
“We are honored to once again participate in Brazil’s Agricultural Aviation Congress, organized by the National Agricultural Aviation Companies Union (SINDAG). This is an important opportunity to showcase solutions that help increase the efficiency of agricultural operations by combining productivity, safety, and lower operating costs.”
Regional expansion and corporate growth
The Brazilian showcase follows a recent push to expand the Ipanema 203’s footprint across South America. On July 8, 2026, Embraer presented the aircraft for the first time at the 138th Exposición Rural in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
To support this international expansion, Embraer signed a Memorandum of Understanding in July 2026 with Essential Energy Holding and Bioenergías Agropecuaria. The agreement focuses on studying the feasibility of ethanol production and distribution to support future Ipanema operators in Argentina.
The aircraft also recently secured certification from Paraguay’s National Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DINAC), clearing the way for large-scale agricultural operations in that country.
This agricultural aviation push coincides with strong overall financial performance for the manufacturer. On August 10, 2026, Embraer reported a second-quarter record of US$2.2 billion in revenue and subsequently raised its profit guidance for the 2026 fiscal year.
