Sikorsky Names First EU Black Hawk Parts Distribution Center

Sikorsky has designated Prague-based Česká letecká servisní, a.s. (ČLS) as its first authorized European Union distribution center for Black Hawk helicopters parts, establishing a localized supply chain for the continent’s growing fleet.

Announced in an August 24, 2026, press release by parent company Lockheed Martin, the agreement aims to reduce support response times and improve parts availability for European operators. More than 150 Black Hawk helicopters currently operate within the European Union, primarily conducting emergency response, security, and mission-critical operations.

Expanding European support infrastructure

The partnerships with ČLS provides Sikorsky with a centralized logistics hub within the European Union regulatory and customs zone. Rich Benton, vice president and general manager at Sikorsky, stated that the company is focused on supporting operator readiness as the regional fleet expands.

“By working alongside ČLS, we are strengthening our service footprint in the European Union and ensuring timely parts delivery for Black Hawk helicopters,” Benton said.

For ČLS, the authorization represents a major expansion of its maintenance and logistics portfolio. Monika Kowalczykova, CEO of ČLS, noted that the appointment validates the company’s expertise in helicopter platform modernization and after-sales support. The distribution center will support multiple variants operating in the region, including the Sikorsky UH-60M, Sikorsky UH-60A/L, and Sikorsky S-70 models.

Regional fleet growth and the FIREHAWK program

The distribution agreement coincides with broader efforts by Sikorsky to deepen its industrial presence in Central Europe. Sikorsky, ČLS, Poland-based PZL Mielec, and United Rotorcraft are currently collaborating to launch the Sikorsky S-70 FIREHAWK helicopter program for the Czech Republic. This initiative targets the specialized aerial firefighting market, leveraging the Black Hawk airframe for rapid water delivery and initial attack capabilities.

Demand for the Black Hawk platform continues to grow among European operators outside the immediate European Union bloc as well. On the same day the ČLS agreement was announced, the U.S. State Department approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to Norway for 21 Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters. According to reporting by Aviation Week, the proposed Norwegian acquisition carries an estimated value of $2.3 billion, further expanding the footprint of the aircraft type on the continent.
