Greenpoint Technologies Wins 2026 IYAA Cabin Design Award

Greenpoint Technologies, a subsidiary of Safran Cabin, has been awarded the Cabin Design Award at the 2026 International Yacht & Aviation Awards for its fully enclosed first-class AeroSuite concept. The award recognizes a design that integrates a dedicated lie-flat bed and a separate reclining lounge seat within a single private space, reflecting a growing demand for multi-functional privacy in large-cabin VVIP aircraft.

In a press release issued on June 12, 2026, Safran Group announced the accolade, noting that the AeroSuite was developed in partnership with design firm Studio E/Motions. The suite is currently certified and operational on two Boeing Business Jet 787-9 (BBJ 787-9) aircraft, demonstrating its viability in active service rather than remaining a purely conceptual design.

Design and operational integration

The AeroSuite targets the head-of-state and VVIP aviation market, where operators increasingly prioritize private spaces that serve multiple purposes during long-haul flights. By combining a bed and a lounge seat, the design allows passengers to transition between working, dining, and resting without needing to reconfigure their seating environment.

Greenpoint Technologies indicated that while the suite is currently flying on the BBJ 787-9 platform, the architecture is adaptable. The company plans to offer the enclosed suite concept for other premium, low-density aircraft interiors.
